How to Make a QR Code With Photos and a Message (Step by Step)

Learn how to create a personalized QR code that opens your photos, a message and music — from design to a print-ready download — in just a few minutes.

A QR code can't hold a photo directly — it only stores a short piece of text, usually a link. What people call a "photo QR code" is really a QR code that opens a web page holding your photos, messages and music. QRLivo lets you design that page and generate its QR code in one place.

1. Pick a template

Birthday, love letter, anniversary, wedding invitation, baby, graduation, memorial... Every template comes with a matching theme, an effect and sample text that's ready to rewrite. You can also start from a blank page.

2. Add your photos and words

In the editor, a page is built from blocks: cover, text, photo, gallery, quote, video, music, counter, timeline, link button and signature. Drag blocks to reorder them and watch the live phone preview update as you type. Photos from your phone are resized and rotated automatically, so the page loads fast.

3. Choose a theme and an effect

Themes like Classic, Blush, Midnight, Gold Gala and Love Letter change fonts and colors together. Effects such as confetti, hearts, snow, stars or fireworks play when the page opens.

4. Publish and download your QR code

When you love it, choose a plan (1, 3, 6 or 12 months). Once payment is complete you can download your QR code three ways:

  • Transparent PNG — to place on a colored card or mug with no background box.
  • PNG with a white background — for sharing on screen or printing on dark surfaces.
  • SVG — an infinitely scalable vector for print shops and engraving.

5. Update your page anytime

The QR code points to your page's permanent address. Change the content as often as you like while it's live — the code stays the same, so a printed gift never needs reprinting.
